Our associate Melissa Mauro, 48, passed away on August 29, 2021.
Melissa, an Investment Advisor Representative for PPA, was also a Certified Financial Planner® and a Certified Public Accountant. In her accounting practice, she specialized in cash flow management as well as in retirement, education, and tax planning.
Melissa held a B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University. She belonged to the AICPA & NYS Society as well as the Financial Planning Association. Melissa began her career at Richard A. Backer CPA PC before founding her own firm, Melissa A. Mauro CPA PC.
Melissa volunteered regularly for local youth sports organizations and served as a treasurer for her local Cub Scouts chapter. She lived on Long Island with her husband and two children. She is sorely missed.
